Re: what pot for this semi cascade juniper
i dont think pat does free form any more but i know penny's prices are very reasonable for the quality of the pot, i know penny will also make pots to suit your tree, i was going to get one made from penny for a certain tree but the tree didnt work out for me, so it wont be until i get another one going for the pot i want.

Re: what pot for this semi cascade juniper
heres something along the lines of what i was talking about with taking the tail off
you may want to keep some of the branching for more dead wood, it is a bit rough but it gives you the idea

Re: what pot for this semi cascade juniper
hey dayne, just looking at this tree i seen a smaller more upright tree, you problably wont want to go this way as you have it as a semi cascade but if you ever have to redesign there is always a shohin slanting style in there, some sweet deadwood around it and putting shari on the trunk and it would be awesome
crappy virt but gives ya the idea, i was trying to get the two canopies seperate but couldnt without it not looking right on a flat picture.

Dayne, that pot is too big by one third, depth is fine, it is the length. It overpowers the tree. Which by the way has some very nice potential.
One thing is all ways match tree to pot, good idea to take the tree with you when looking for a pot.
The first thing I saw was the pot, which spoils it for me. Shape and colour are fine. Also if you wish to grow it to suit the pot
which it will do eventually.
Then you will have a nice match. Get the virtual virtuosos to do a cut down on the pot to see what I mean.
JMHO Cheers

Re: what pot for this semi cascade juniper
Dayne, what are the measurements mate? I'm heading to Tess's nursery on Saturday and maybe to another one as well, if you can give me the current measurements, I can keep an eye out for one a bit better sized if you like?
I also am able to keep an eye out for a one in Japan too =)
Happy to help out mate, cause I know it's a struggle for you to get to the nurseries.
