Black pine -- roots correction

Post by daiviet_nguyen »

I bought this black pine from Mr. Paul Sweeney shortly after I got my first real job. That was over 15 years ago. It cost $60.00, it was also the first ever credit card transaction for me!

Mr. Sweeney has put it aside to work on later. I visited him quite late in the afternoon, I caught my eyes, I attempted to bargain, but Mr. Sweeney just smile sweetly and patted my back and said something like it is a very fair price. And that was the end of the bargaining.

He gave me a sketch also on how he would style it. I can honestly say that I did try to follow it, but I failed badly. And this is it, more than 10 years later on 15/03/2008.

Around end of winter 2008, I put into a wooden box and to retrain the roots. As a result, the foliage also got a bit better, the trunk was fattened a little too.

I will repot it shortly and will post the latest pictures.
