Diatomite

Does any one know where to get diatomite in Sydney . Or have any idea how to go about organizing a group order from madenwell ?

Hey Paulneill, I would probably try somewhere like Australian Native Landscapes (ANL) or specialist landscape supply places. Diatomite sounds like a volcanic rock?? Is that what it is? If thats the case; I use Zeolite which I incorporate into my bonsai soil mixes and propgating mix for cuttings. Please get back to me.

The only Place in Sydney to get diatomite is at enfiled produce

Not Volcanic but even better

check out the many threads here about it from my other reply. I use it and zelolite as my mix

It is a silaca material dug from the ground . Madenwell mine is the place in oz were it comes from 11 dollars for 40 liters apparently . I have used zeolight and have heard it's not as good as diatomite because it's too heavy and takes longer to dry out.

I use both diatomite and Zeolite in my mixes privately and here at the collection.

Hi I just heard that I can buy diatomite in Sydney at enfield produce.it is a product called kleensord is this as good as madenwell stuff ?

Zeolite and Diatomite are very different and should be use as a compliment to each other and not as a replacement.
read all the threads linked above to learn all about the differences in the various suppliers in OZ. there are more than just one

Next time you're in the Supermarket check the Kitty Litter. Diatomacious clay is often used for this purpose.
