Bimer Bonsai Club Annual Show 16-17 April 2011

Post by bonsaibruce »

Bimer is presenting their annual show at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens Auditorium on the week-end of 16 + 17 of April 2011.

There is always a large green stock sales area and this year, several members are offering advanced stock as they decrease their collections.

Please note the show closes on 3.30 Sunday afternoon.

See you there,
Bruce

Greetings Gentle Bonsai Folk,
Bimer does not have judged shows, but there is a public favourite tree vote.
Only club members can display trees. Please look at our soon to be upgraded website. bimerbonsai.org
Display is open from 9am, finishes 5pm Saturday, and 3.30pm Sunday.
There is usually a good selection of pots and trees for sale.
Hope to see you there, ask for me, I'll be there both days.

I've never been to an event like this before, do you need to pay an entry fee (to look) or is there no charge, also what's the average turn out for an event of this level? Just curious as Id like to take a look.

The entry fee is just $3.00. There are also two demos performed on each day 11am and 1pm. Once you have visited the show you can enjoy the rest of the Botanic Gardens.

Hi Andrew L,

Last year we had one of our biggest turn out for our show (around 580 people) over the two days. :tu:

It will be a great show this year too, with a lot of very nice trees.
Cheers

Greetings,
Can you check and make sure there is no Myrtle Rust on display trees please.
Ray, I have been in BIMER for about 20 years and the beard went as a charity cut about 6 years ago. I hope to see you at the show.
Happy bonsai,
Bruce

Just got home from the show and saw some very nice trees on display. I have a feeling I missed out on the majority of good stock though?

Maybe not Dave - there wasn't as much there last night when we set up. Because the Toowong SES base was flooded they have taken over half of the space at the auditorium. So there was a lot less space for everything this year. What was your favourite tree ?
