buxus
with english box is there a way to promote budding in specific areas(e.g. marking the trunk or tournique) or is it pot luck-on the largest in photo I would like a branch coming forwards to cover the straitish area of the upper trunk.am also thinking of adding two smaller box to the back for more depth--any hints on possible fixing the branch removal scars

Re: buxus
Letting the tree grow freely for a while, heavy feeding and a lot of sun - then pinch back to the last two leaves of every twig and cutting the remaining leaves in half will give you lots of back budding.
But on the right place - there is no guarantee !
Wounds should be made part of the trees because they heal over very slowly.
