I bought two of these Buxus trees about four months ago:
Two weeks ago I decided to clean up one of them and I discovered a nice single trunk in there. Most of these Buxus are multitrunk disasters only good for an Oak or Bluegum style?
I will probably have to regrow most of the branches and with a little wiring I can sort out the movement of the trunk.
I am thinking of styling it into a feminine semi-formal tree.
A few sides to the tree:
Any thoughts on the tree will be welcomed.

Looking pretty good as it is. Maybe it is a bit tall and could benefit from selecting a new leader. See how it fills out Lennard and then make a decision. Buxus (japanese)? make good smaller trees.

I am thinking of chopping it at the red line but there is still a long straight piece of trunk indicated by yellow. Maybe I could wait for the growth indicated with purple to grow on a bit and maybe I could use that as a new leader.bodhidharma wrote:Looking pretty good as it is. Maybe I could use my trunkbender to see if I can bend that yellow part of the trunk?

Very nice lennard
I prefer the idea of chopping when you get a new shoot there as it will have taper there then to match the rest of the tree. If you bend then no taper
