Heartfelt condolences to my buddies across the Tasman and the families who have lost loved ones. I hope that those that died were not sacrificed because of greed or wrongdoing, that this tragedy is just an unfortunate accident.

i almost didnt reply to this post cos i just couldnt find the words to express what i wanted to say. i still cant. may they all be resting in peace now and may their families hold their lost ones in loving memory till the end of time

I'd like to join you all with condolences. It's a sad outcome and a very, very sad loss of life. One of those lost was from here - the Fraser Coast.

Maybe some lessons might be learnt from this disaster - like all countries and areas having a good rescue service with the right equipment, instead of having to wait for it to come from other states or countries - as in Chile and now in New Zealand. The longer a rescue has to go on, the less chance of survival.

Such a sad waste of life - such a sad ending.
