My Trees

These are my first trees

I grew by seed collected from a tree in our yard.I wired ,trained and trimmed in August.I did have a little help to start the wire .Thanks sonic976

Iike the one the left, but the other one needs more movement in the trunk.
It comes out of the ground in a bend which you should make use of getting some big movement in the trunk to match

Do you know what they trees are? Some sort of Juniper?

I think they are a Thuja Orientals -Chinese arbour-vitae . Thank sonic976

I will put wire on the tree when I come back on friday .
the foliage is fern-like and it has multi trunks with spiney seed pods on the ends .The King Parrots eat the seeds , We have green and yellow trees . Thanks sonic976

they look like like thuja to me aswell, can be hard to work with but you seem to be getting some reasonable shape on them, interesting to see how they are in 5 years.

Hi Sonic.

You've got a good start on informal upright with the one on the left. Perhaps you could consider wiring the trunk on the other one in a similar way by putting some slight bends in it.

Thuja is an unusual tree to grow, but hey, you never what it will develop like until you try it.

Go for it Sonic, let's see what you can do with it over the next year or two.

Hi Tman i have already put some bends in it now its looking sad .I gave Alpineart a hand repotting some plants for a day to weeks ago and he said I can choose 10 plants for helping him .His got so many and hard to choose .I have picked 2 Abulitons, pines , maples and elms and apples.Thanks sonic976

Hi Sonic976 , i appreciated your help repotting .Now you have some trainers to work with i suggest you do some research on Ausbonsai and gather as much info as you can on these plants before you do anything .Then maybe post them individually and ask for some direction , plenty of good help here . No good learning all my bad habits .Cheers Alpineart

For your orginal post can you post some new pictures of the trunk so we can see what your doing
