Floriade 2010 in Canberra
Hi everyone,
The NBPCA is currently closed as preparations are made around us for Floriade 2010.
The annual Floriade event goes from September 11th till October 10th this year.
We have new trees on display and the display is always changing so even if you have been before it is well worth the visit.
Grant Bowie
Interim Curator,

Floriade is less than a week away. Preparations are moving along at a furious pace. The park is full of noise and hi vis clothing! We have been busy preparing all of the trees, and filling the volunteer rosters! We expect to have tens of thousands of visitors through the collection over the next month. We hope to see you here.
Cheers,
Leigh.

Hi Jan,
The Collection will be open this Saturday for the whole of Floriade, we then close for a couple of weeks whilst Floriade gets "de-constructed".

Re: Floriade 2010 in Canberra
Floriade was officially opened today, so there was a bit of a "buzz" in the park. Floriade will be open to the public tomorrow morning for about 4 weeks. They also have "Floriade Nightfest" again this year. You can check it all out on their website - http://www.floriadeaustralia.com
Here are some pics of the launch this morning.
See you all some time in the next few weeks.
Cheers,
Leigh Taafe

Hi all,
we had another 2,900 visitors yesterday! A good start to the month of Floriade in Canberra.
However a prediction of 10 degrees max for tomorrow. Brrr.

Re: Floriade 2010 in Canberra
G'day Grant and Leigh,
The entrance has come up a treat! I was passing by when you were closed prior to Floriade
but will call in when next passing
.
I won't be able to visit during Floriade but noticed (posted above) that you will be also closed while they "disassemble" Floriade, could you give us the dates you will be closed for so we know when to plan a visit?
Will the bonsai on display be the same ones seen during Floriade?
Best of luck with the crowds,
Jan.

When Floriade closes to the public on Sunday afternoon 10th October we are then compulsoraly closed for two weeks.
So we are closed Monday 11th October till Monday 25th October when we reopen at 10am. We have many new trees in for Floriade and they will still be here when we reopen. Some of the trees from NSW and ACT will then be rotated over the next few months.
See you soon.

Re: Floriade 2010 in Canberra
Did Graham do anything in Bonsai Heaven, oops sorry, meant The Bonsai Collection?
If so, when can we expect it to air on the show?
