Deciduous Vs Evergreen

Post by Hutch11 »

Gday all,

I have been doing a bit of reading on when the best time to re pot deciduous trees is. It makes sense to re pot and trim roots just as the buds of spring begin to extend etc and I have found this is a fairly easy time to recognize in your deciduous trees.

However, I have a few azaleas etc and am not sure on when the best time to re pot these would be and how to recognise the correct time within the bonsai itself. Obviously all species of trees/plants/shrubs are slighlty different to eachother but is there a main difference or any general rules to follow when repotting evergreens such as azaleas etc as opposed to deciduous ?
