Off the Illawarra website.

17-19/09/2010 17th to 19th September; right at the start of Floriade but I will try and make it this year.

Lynette was kind enough to steer me to this event a few years ago. Lynette recommended Bonsai by the Harbour and the Tops Weekend. I can vouch that the Bonsai by the Harbour is a great event. With multiple demo's on at the same time it creates a very relaxed atmosphere and moving from one demo to another around the room is encouraged. That's if you can drag yourself away from the conversations in the middle of the room :)

I haven't made it to Tops yet so I am also looking forward to that this year as well.
Thanks for the heads up Grant. I thought I looked at the site a while back and I thought it wasn't there. Maybe they updated recently or maybe I missed it :? I guess the program will come out closer to the event.

I can say that a very well known, well respected member of the AusBonsai community is one of the headliners this year and I imagine Illawaara will promote it after the convention.

It is a fabulous weekend and I have made every single Tops weekend except last year. I will try harder to get there this year despite the Floriade event around the NBPCA.

Still waiting to see if the Better half can get the weekend off so I can go. After her work made me miss Bankstown I reckon it might be time she quit anyway :D

BBTH urgent update. Due to an unfortunate family matter there will be a change of lineup in the critique and ideas session on Saturday afternoon.
Leigh Taafe the Assistant Interim Curator of the ANBPC Canberra will take the place of Ross Miller. Ausbonsai followers need no introduction to him and I'm sure lots will take the opportunity to meet him in person. Leigh will also do a demo on Sunday after Steven's talk! As this is a late addition it will be a surprise item of Leigh's own choice.
If you are coming do bring trees for the Critique and I promise you that it's your choice to do or not to do anything they suggest. Howeverif you do choose to take up any suggesions come prepared with tools and wire as I have often found that new viisions can be inspired in this way of looking at fresh design ideas.
looking forward to meeting other Ausbonsai-ists

I thought the other day it has not been brought to light here that Steven is doing a demonstration at the BBTH. Is it a full 2 hour talk on using the Internet for Bonsai. Way to go Steven and good luck :D
I am still trying to convince Danica that enough is enough. It is time to quit her job I am over missing these events :| Shoot I got to do more when I was working :geek:

Also break a leg Leigh :D
