Olive Group - NBPCA

Post by NBPCA »

Olive Group Setting - 26 April 2010.jpg
African olive. The trees in this group are approx. 11to 21 years old and were collected in the
Macarthur region of NSW. From 2005 onwards, several artists contributed to the creation of the
group, which admirably suggests a setting in the wild. Note the different shapes and planting angles
of the trees, as well as their various sizes, all complemented by undergrowth and stone.
This Olive group is very popular with children visiting the collection as it is at their eye level and it
inspires their imagination.

Not at the moment. They did flower earlier in the year.

I love every thing about this setting and have seen the photos of the guys who put it together. Bonsai's future in Aus is looking very bright.

Visit your local Monumental Mason (Gravestones) as first stop.

The slab has been roughly cut to shape and the edge hand chipped. A lot of work with an angle grinder etc.

I have seen some imported natural looking man made fake stone but its been a few years.

I love the trees and the arrangement ( go, hardknocks bonsai!) but the bright green moss reminds me of a rainforest and seems out of context. I would love to see this landscape with a dryland understorey..... then for me it would be perfect!!!

Hi Ellen, Grant
Outstanding group, truly inspiring. :)
Another great place for granite slabs are kitchen installers, when they cut out the sink from a granite top they create perfect sized slabs ready to shape.
