Fresh-water paperbark. The trees for this group of West Australian natives were acquired
between 1997 and 2003. Individual styling began in 2003, with all trees assembled onto a
specially built fiberglass slab in 2004. Note the positioning and the differing sizes of the
many trees, evoking a natural bush setting. Also typical is the flaking bark, especially on the
old trees. Three West Australian artists were involved in the planting, which took 3 hours.

It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Thank you for showing! I have to gather my jaw off the floor now, its absolutly stunning!!!
Although im still learning the basics, i understand well that the main aim in most bonsai is to recreate nature on a smaller scale in a small tray/pot. this display is so amazingly natural!
, i can picture myself building a small, recently used, model campfire amongst the display
perhaps where a couple bush rangers rested for the night..
Great stuff everyone involved! WOW

The three grumpy old men. The tree was donated by Alf Devine, it was put together by Arthur Robinson Alf Devine Derek Oakley, plus as Derek suffered a coughing fit due to the fumes from the fibreglass, a young man named Jardine Mac Donald.
Who has since spent a lot of time in Japan studying both the Language and Bonsai.
I hope that helps Brett cheers Pup

Here is a picture of it the last time it was shown to the public in Western Australia with some wild life.
You can see how well it is looked after in Canberra. I hope you like it,
Cheers

Hi Antonio - yes, it does mate....and this pic allows me to imagine the sun coming up in the morning, but it is only high enough in the sky to light the tallest of trees.
