Some new maples to play with

Post by Craig.a.c »

Went to a small nursery in town to look around and was given some Japanese maples that were going to be thrown out.

The red one I paid $18 for.

The bent one looks like it will be fun to work with.
They will be going into a grow box to get some life in them.

Nice freebies. The long and winding one would be excellent to use for thread grafting for branches or roots.
Always we hope someone else has the answer.

Here they are in the grow box after a good soak.

The maple in the first pic is not in this grow box.

think about slipping a tile or something hard between each tree craig ;) otherwise it shall be a night mare trying to get them out and sorting the roots out ;) :D

I didn't even think of that.
Good thing I have a few tiles laying around the house from when they came off the laundry wall.

:) I could only find one box. They all had very little in the way of roots.
