People & trees -- 7th National Exhibition of Native Bonsai
All people of major importance! There are more, though, whose photo I haven't got yet.
I looked out for you, Ken. Very sorry you had such darn bad luck.
I haven't had time yet to process the tree photos. Maybe other visitors have good pics they can post.
With a bit of luck there will also be photos of the demos.

Re: People & trees -- 7th National Exhibition of Native Bonsai
Gday Lisa & Co!
I'm safely back in Melbourne after madly trying to pack too much into a single day in the ACT. Sadly, I did not manage to make it to the National Collection as I was about to miss my flight back home, but it is just another reason to return to Canberra when I have more time up my sleeve.
Thanks for the photos Lisa - next time could you please PhotoShop the grey out of my beard?..
It was great to finally meet a bunch of Australian Bonsai's best and brightest: I joked to Steven that if a bomb hit the cafe, Oz Bonsai would be set back a thousand years. During my brief visit to the nation's capital, I met Neil (Shibui) and his Good Lady Margrit, Pat Kennedy (again), Grant Bowie and his Good Lady Margaret, Dr Roger Hnatiuk, Ric Roberts, Lisa (LLK), Peter (PeterH), Leigh Taafe and our very own Steven (Steven), among others. I was struck by the generosity and friendliness of these folks, as well as the ever improving quality of the Native Show.
I look forward to returning in the not-too-distant future.
Thanks.
Fly.

Re: People & trees -- 7th National Exhibition of Native Bonsai
Hi all,
I managed to get to the show in Canberra and the trees were very good (to be expected) bordering on awesome. The people were very friendly and Roger did an excellent demonstration on a M. linariifolia on Saturday. It was certainly worth the drive.

Gday Edward! Did you lunch with the AB.C crew? I don't recall meeting you (but I met so many folks, it's likely I've already forgotten someEdwardH wrote:Hi all,

Isnt it strange how we appreciate the aged look so much more in our trees than in ourselves. Bring on the day when we are trying to add a few wrinkles for 'character', instead of trying to look like boring saplings.FlyBri wrote: Thanks for the photos Lisa - next time could you please PhotoShop the grey out of my beard?..

Lisa,
Thank you for the opportunity to meet some of the faces from Aus Bonsai. I would have like to have spent more time with Steven and Brain.
Maybe we will be able to meet at one of our homes in the near future to talk about the future of Bonsai and many other topics in Aus Bonsai.
Peter
