White Pine Seed

Post by Webos »

Hi Guys,
I was lucky enough to come across a Japanese White Pine today with big cone on it which was just opening. I gave it a few taps and into my hand dropped 14 plump seeds. Just wondering if any experienced people out there might have any advice on White Pine seed propagation.

Thanks

Hey Webos

Did you have any luck with these ? How big was the white pine cone you shook, must of been huge ? I have a white pine with a green cone on it about an inch long and was thinking of having a crack at some propagation. Do I have to wait for the cone to get to the size of a coconut ? Dont laugh !
Any help will be appreciated.
