Potash Overload

Hi there crazy kids!! I was wondering, when I want a bonsai of mine to flower I often use Potash of Sulphate and either water it into the soil or dilute and spray onto foliage. My question is, what are the typical syptoms when a plant has been overfed with this material? Has anyone come across this problem? Is it difficult to give a plant too much??

Potassium Sulphate provides Potassium and Sulphur to your plants. Excess potassium may cause deficiencies in magnesium and possibly calcium. Excess of sulphur may cause premature dropping of leaves q.v. http://www.cartage.org.lb/en/themes/Sci ... lPlant.htm (see table 2).

If you kept to the dilution rates and the application frequency specified on your fertiliser pack you should be right.

If you plant is an exotic species then there is a product produced by nutrog called sudden impact for roses this is a nice gentle organic fertiliser which will encourage flowering.

when using a liqiud fertilizer mixed with water can it be watered over folage...does it do tree and leaves any good doing this or just watered into medium...im using chrystal bonsai plantfood 4=6=6
