Little Acacia..First Pot

Hi all,
Just potted up a little Acacia sp. (I'm told it is a A. floribunda but I am not certain), nice little pot I reckon.
Bit of a root prune and a new soil mix was all that was really done today, with the rock and ground cover thrown in for something to look at.
Let me know what you think of it, apart from the fact it's tiny! It's about 20 cm high I think. This is the first time I've root pruned an Acacia like this so I hope it comes off for now

G'day bonscythe,
Thanks for sharing your work. Looks like a nice Mudlark pot you have chosen.

Q. Did you repot now for a reason or was it just convenient timing?
I'm interested to hear from anyone who has experience with Acacia particularly with root pruning. I have lost 2 of my 3, they never recovered after major root work.

Hi Steven,
I think it is a Mudlark pot, it has a Pd stamp on it. I have 3 of these pots now, they're my favourite!
The plant follows no rules but that's because I started styling before I knew of the rules
But I think it has some character and wanted it to look kinda aussie.

I repotted now because of convenience, just wanted to get some plants in pots, maybe a bit early for it's size but...
a) There was no new growth on the plant
b) Temperatures are expected to be constantly warmish for the next few days/nights
c) It's been raining here for a few days and a few more are expected, so I thought it would be a good time to do this sort of thing before it his 40 degrees again!

I soaked the plant for a while before pulling out of the pot and soaked many times in it's new pot, once with a weak dose of seasol too.
We'll see how it goes eh.

It is certainly nice to have a tree ( not matter how good or bad) in a nice pot on the bench.
As our skills and experience improve, we will constantly reevaluate them as either develop it or replace as needed.
In future you may well chop this back hard to generate taper at one of the branches there. but until then enjoy a native in a PK pot

Hahahaha....that makes 2 people's threads I've read and asked questions about in 1 minute...i hope my plants can handle the neglect....thanks for the heads up...maybe Admin could manufacture a scheme to highlight OP's that are no longer

Hi Max,
This one died the next season without any real probable cause unfortunately. The pot remains empty though, awaiting the next candidate.
