Juniper pre-bonsai advice

Post by bonsai.idiot »

Hi - I have a juniper with a funky spread of branches from the base. Any suggestions on styling this little fella would be much appreciated. Thank you!Image

In winter you can do something like this.
Just wire the new main branch and nothing else and leave for another year. You can shorten anything that grown too long. Shorten the low branches very gradually - over 2 or 3 years until you remove or make a short jin. Don't rush anything but have a firm plan. The main trunk is all you should be concerned with for now. You can go ahead and cut the two main vigorous shoots in half now.
In the mean time, feed it well to build up it's reserves.
