There's not much to offer Ilithya. It is currently a stick in a pot and you could make almost anything out of it by pruning and wiring so I think you just need to pick a shape you like and work towards that.

Not much to judge size from so hard to give good advice.

Is that straight section of trunk flexible at all? If so get wire on it and bend to get some interest and movement. if not then think about cutting back to the first branch. That will improve taper as well.
you could keep as a small mini / shohin and develop it to that size or let it grow on again for a lrger tree,
When you repot, tilt it so the trunk is not coming from the ground vertically if you can. this gives movement from the ground and ad interest ( unless you are designing broom or formal upright)

if you keep the full length, look at the whorl of brnaches at the top, reduce to only 1 branch and leader. IE 2 shoots only from a single place on the trunk as swelling and reverse taper is the ugly result
