Just have a quick question about Seasol & liquid fertiliser.
I understand that Seasol isn't a fertiliser but I was just wondering if its safe to use on my plants in the same week I use liquid fertiliser.

Hi Ben,
Further to what the others have said. Don't fall into the trap of mixing Seasol or other liquid fertilizers and storing for later use. Only mix what you are going to use and then use it.

Regards Ray
Would you please explain why?
Hi Bonbon,
The following is from the manufacturer. I have always abided by this advise and have had great success with this product. Precautions:
Keep out of Reach of Children. NOT TO BE TAKEN. May irritate skin and eyes. Wash hands after use. As with all plant treatments, wash edible plants before eating. Use within 24 hours of mixing.
no no, I definitely don't mix it and store.
Just mix when I need to use.
Knowing that I can use these together though, makes it easy to keep track of when my plants need it and it saves mixing twice.
Oops, I had no idea seasol was a proper fertiliser, lucky I've only just started my bonsai journey a week ago. Can anyone please explain how they differ?
Hi Ben,
I have put together a new post related to Seasol. I didn't want to distract from your post.
If any are interested the new post is: Understanding Seasol
Blunden (1991) summarizes the situation when he says "there is a sufficient body of information available to show that the use of seaweed extracts is beneficial in certain cases, even though the reasons for the benefits are not fully understood".
