Goulburn Exhibition 3 & 4 October 2009

Post by Watto »

The Goulburn Bonsai Society will be holding its annual exhibition on 3 & 4 October 2009 at the CWA Rooms, Montague Street Goulburn. The day will include demonstartions, sales tables, Bonsai clinics and of course an exhibition of local trees.
Most tree in the exhibition will be trees dug from the local area and there will also be a small number of "scrub dug beauties" for sale (it beats digging them). The CWA Rooms are next to the Court House, and both are situated across the road the large park right in the Goulburn CBD. Come along and enjoy the countryside for the long weekend. Entry only $3.00 - contact Chris 0411145803 for details.

Thanks for the kind words about our dig. When we find more trees than we can dig ourselves we are more than happy to share with other bonsai clubs (and other bonsai tragics) that are willing to travel.
The tree in the photo is a semi-cascade hawthorne that was dug locally a few years.

Hi Watto,

There will be some Canberrans heading up the road to the Goulburn show next week.

By the way the 3 large Hawthorn I dug at the Goulburn dig just 4 weeks ago are budding already and should do nicely. Defineatly quicker than growing from seed or cuttings!

This exhibition last year, the tress displayed and the friendly members in attendance encouraged my wife and I to become very involved with Bonsai and with the Goulburn Bonasi Club in particular.

This is a good weekend and well worth a visit. I started with the Goulburn Bonsai club after seeing their exhibition 5 years ago and have had a lot of fun and learnt a lot.

Bretts,
Come on down 3 1/2 hrs is easy and there is more to do. Not only will you see some great Bonsai but right opposite the Exhibition there will be the Produce and Craft markets on the Saturday, a street Carnival both days and a street procession on Sunday. :D
And no I don't work for Goulburn Tourism. ;)

If you are attending Bretts, bring a jumper, the weather forecast is cool with the possibility of a shower.
