Yeah, I know but it really did happen to me, the missus just finished cleaning it up! But yeah Pat K will be there. And after seeing his pots at the Illawarra show I am excited to see what he brings.
So please come out and support our fairly newly formed club. Should be a fun day, bring the kids and let them have a go, you might learn a thing or two!

Gday Jezz!
Just noticed that the IMG link you put up is pointed at a PDF. I guess that doesn't work... But this does (I hope):

And here's a linky just for luck!
I look forward to meeting some of the AB.C regulars up in the hills!
Thanks!
Fly.

Well a little wee didn't come out of me but I'm still fairly excited also.

I really do wish they'd hurry up and grow.

Re: Yarra valley bonsai society show - 17th of Oct 2009
Looking forward to seeing heaps of people at the show tomorrow……..remember its worth the trip to just see Pat and his pots. If that isn’t enough to entice people to travel from the other side of town…..I’m sure the chance to see Jarrod is!!
Remember it’s not going to be a great day weather wise, so there really isn’t an excuse than to spend an enjoyable day at our first show. Pick up a great bargain from the trading tables (I was fortunate to see some of the stock Tim will be bringing and its very impressive). Buy some raffle tickets for the chance to win a great handmade pot, kindly donated by Pat, a large Mugo kindly donated by A to Z, a hamper donated by Maxicrop and to cater for everyone a fantastic hamper of non bonsai stuff donated by YVBS members. Bargain at $2 each or 3 for $5. Bring the kids at 11am and for $3 they go home with their very own bonsai that they made themselves. Then hang around for a demo by Jeff from the Imagination Tree. Oh, there will also be some bonsai on display.....
Then after a great time at the show……..remember we are located close to two of Melbourne’s major bonsai suppliers. You couldn’t find a more perfect day!!
Cya there hopfully!!

Re: Yarra valley bonsai society show - 17th of Oct 2009
Gday folks!
I've just returned from Montrose, and I strongly urge everybody in the Melbourne metropolitan area to make a trip out there. (Better make it snappy, as the show only has a couple of hours to go.) Looking at the quality of the trees on show and the exhibit set-up, I would never guess that this was the maiden exhibition from a one year old Bonsai club.
I met a smiling Pat Kennedy and bought an awesome black satin glazed pot (soon to be home to a little River Red
). I met our mate Jarrod, and was most impressed at seeing his J. squamata in person, as well as his Flowering Plum. I had a bit of a yak with a young dude who seemed to know his Oz natives, and I met Ruth (I believe Ruth is the author of the post above). Everybody there was very friendly, and the atmosphere was quite buoyant, despite the drizzle.
As Jezz said to me, things can only get better from here, and I truly look forward to seeing what they come up with next year!
Thanks.
Fly.
PS: If you get a coffee from the little van out the front, be careful, as mine was a little too hot.

Wow, thanks for the glowing review. Pleasure to meet you too mate.
It was a very successful day for our club. Trees were of a great standard and we had loads of people through the doors.
If this is what we can do in 1 year, imagine what wewill do next year!

Being a small club this year we could only afford one day, after the success of this year, we thinking of running it for two days next year!
