Pumice in Sydney

Post by Homer911 »

Anyone know of anywhere in Sydney to get some Pumice 1-7mm?

My normal supplier (Lux Cuttings) do not stock any more due to not selling well.

Thanks

Ahh Bugger!
Australian perlite do not sell in small lots to the public, that was how / why I found Lux Cuttings.
they only sell by the pallet :-(

If I had somewhere to store it I would do so myself!
Does anyone in north west sydney have room to store a few pallets?

Ken

G'Day Ken, Homer,

Interested in Zeolite?
I can source this or have in the past.
Recently concerned about the supply i purchased 17 bags (all the car could carry including various other mediums).
My supplier (credible long time business) then travels across Sydney to collect it from another retailer for me at near to wholesale prices - cannot locate tax invoice ATM, but about $20 per 15kg bag.
Let me know if Zeolite interests you and i can inquire.
20 bags surprisingly doesn't consume much space when stacked well.

I purchase my pumice from Canley Vale Nursery, its been 12 months since I purchased some but give them a call and see what they have in stock.
Last time I as there they had about 6 pallets of 3 different sizes.

Cheers

Cheers Kevin.

I recently got a couple of bags of zeolite from Bonsai World. Still havent used it yet but will probably need a little more before the repoting madness begins.

An enquiry would be appreciated. Thanks

Cheers matt, I will give them a bell this week. I have been there before but just had a look on street view and there is a for sale out side! !! I presume they are selling up for developers. Shame we are loosing all of our suppliers.

I rang these last week and they do sell to the public!! Single bags if you wish.

A bonus is that they are so much cheaper that every other supplier I have come across. I think it about $22-25 per bag. I used to travel to canley vale nursery for the pumice which was 17km away but Australian perlite is only 4 km from my door. Happy days :hooray:

Ditto that. Australia Perlite were more than helpful with smaller orders. I managed to get half a dozen to bring back to Canberra.

Just contact them in advance in case they haven't bagged the smaller bags.

Talking to the sales manager if you are able to get together in groups and order per pallet they can do it cheaper. They are willing to ship interstate.

They also have a by product of unexplained Pumice - UXP. Which is fine & unsorted. However it does contain 1-2mm grade. Which a couple of gurus have commented would be good to try in Shohins.
