Here is a bit of a laugh for you while you wait.
This is one of my first trees from a Ray $8 starter. When I posted on the IBC all I wanted to know was whether I could thicken lower branches to overtake the top ones.
All I got was a discussion about sticking it back in the ground.
I finally relented stuck it in the ground a year later with no root work as no one explained that to me.
Here we are today almost 4 years later. Either hawthorn grow real slow or it disliked the conditions some how.
I thought it was time to pull it out of the ground and see if I could do better from a pot. It always seemed healthy enough and although penjing like, the roots where healthy.
I will play around with this for a while before I decide whether to fix the root base or stick with a penjing style base.
For some reason I am thinking I can get better growth with my collected ones.
