Hi all,

This is a demo I did a few years ago but it fell into dis-repair.

I have now trimmed it and am getting it ready for display. It will bud like crazy over the next few weeks and be quite nice soon I hope.

I don't normally name bonsai but this one had all the trunks and branches tangled that I had to call it "Tanglewood"

They are Corky bark elm and I grew them from cutting; spent a few years in the ground and were the rejects that would not likely easily sell so I used them for the demo.

I really like it Grant. I like your idea of rejects. This flows really well for me. What time of year did you take your cuttings and what size where they.
What are the dimensions of the planting now?

This is a very interesting setting grant and has a very natural feel, good use of the reject trees! I find my eye gets caught on the rocks though, are they hiding something? maybe if they were more integrated into the planting it might help with visual flow of the composition.

maybe the small rock at the front and the large one behind the main tree to invite the eye in? would love to see this in the flesh to explore it.

The rock definitely hides stuff and gives some height differential as well; it is actually just one rock.

The pot is 103cm long(1 mtr and 3cm) and very narrow; the top of the tree is 60cm tall.

These strike easily; you can use root cutting in spring, hardwood in winter or semi hardwood in late spring or early summer.

You could try some soon in fact going into autumn.
