Loropetalum Chinense- Chinese Fringe Flower

This was planted here after i moved in .

I had this one and another purple/pink one . Unfortunately the pink variety never made it ,I attacked this one simply gathering the foliage and cutting it off with secateurs .

This was dug yesterday while a couple of mates dropped in for a quick visit and potted up . They placed it on the bench where the bugger can stay as its way too heavy for me to lift at the moment

. It has some nice movement in 1 of the trunks so if it recovers i will trim and wire it accordingly .

Hi, any updates?

I'm trying one of these as its 4th incarnation ((1) friends garden throw out to our garden (2), to a second spot in our garden (3) - still not happy so out of the ground and into a training pot (4) to see how it does there. it has an interesting trunk with some movement but large bar branches at the first junction. I'm leaving both for now and will settle on the one with the best placed shoots/branching as the keeper in the future.

I'm also interested in how cuttings go - can't throw out all the material I cut off (no idea what I'll do with even more of them, Fringe Flower Forest? ).

Any info would be appreciated.

Ian is getting out of bonsai due to health issues and moving house so he may not be able to reply here.

The loropetalums I have transplanted usually take a couple of years to start growing well again so give it some time in one place.
Cuttings are reasonably easy and root cuttings grow very well.
