Post by marcela »

Hi Everyone,
Looking for people to who may be interested in joining a Native Bonsai Club. The club will be meeting in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne and the whole purpose of the club will be to discuss and work on ONLY Natives. At this stage we have a venue tentatively booked for our first meeting in September, BUT we need all you wonderful Native Nuts to make this club possible. If you would like further details please PM me.
Regards,
Marcela :aussie: :aussie:

I love to see this "passion" which some people have for natives. There is certainly a bright future for our unique trees with lots to be learned and shared.
Good luck, I hope you get lots of enthusiastic response.
Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

Hi all it is disappointing to note that of all the looks, very few have committed to this project. As I and MattA and Jason have said if it were possible to get to meetings we would be starters.

Being this forum was started to encourage the use of our Australian natives as Bonsai, I thought there would be a better response :( .

Just thought I would put in my :2c: on this, as I like Marcela would like to see this happen. :aussie: :aussie: :aussie:

Hi Marcella,
I'm another one that is interested but living just a bit too far away to attend meetings in person. Any thoughts on possibly catering for remote and interstate members?

I will be in Melbourne usually 2 times per year and will try and coordinate with the club.

Great idea and good luck

Hi Everyone,
Firstly, Thank you Pup for support and i really wish that distances weren't such a problem in this great country of ours. I have been a little disappointed myself by the lack of interest so far but i really hope this will change as we get closer to our first meeting in September.
To everyone else who has asked about interstate memberships, I'm sure that once we get this up and running it could be a possibility, we just have to work through things as they occur.
Neil, I hope you are bringing some natives for sale on Monday at BSV, and we can discuss things further if we get a chance.
Grant, thanks for the well wishes, we hope to see you at our meetings when ever you can make them.
Damian, at this stage we will be meeting in Coburg.
Further details will be posted up as they are confirmed, but please keep this in mind, this is going to be a club where we are hoping to further our knowledge on Natives as Bonsai and whilst we can and have learned a lot through this great website, having like minded people actually talking and discussing natives face to face will only be a positive for us all.
Regards,
Marcela
