Centenary Bonsai Prize; NBPCA

Post by NBPCA »

The Centenary Bonsai Prize for 2013 has been run and won. 14 trees were entered in the competition and the 3 judges(Averil S, Derek O and Joe MP) chose the winner from a very competitive field.

At the AABC convention dinner on Saturday night it was announced that the inaugural winner of the CBP was Ian H from NSW with his beautiful Juniperus procumbens featuring deadwood and live veins.

Congratulations to Ian H and all the others that entered the competition.

The bonsai is now a permanent part of the NBPCA and is on display as of now.

Ok so this is my 2nd Harry potter reference in 2 days. But the deadwood on the winning tree looks like a deer patronus wrapping around the trunk! So well done!

Beautiful trees and worthy winners. :hooray: :hooray: :hooray:

Great to see this competition supported so well with great entries.

Totally agree with the deer reference on the dead wood of the winning Juniper Beano. Not so much into the Harry Potter bit, but have seen a deer here for a while and love it.

10 years to prepare for the next one folks
