I like making fertiliser cakes, but maggots are a problem.Scott Roxburgh wrote:Cottonseed meal, blood and bone, charlie carp formed into cakes.
Then charlie carp, seasol, and miracle-gro alternated each week...and lots of water!
There is nothing that is sensitive to Seasol as it is a tonic and not a fertilizer. You can use it on all natives without fear. The proteas are the most sensitive to P (Phosphorous) and you need to build up it's use on them. Over time they can be exposed to a higher amount of P but it must be done gradually. That's not to say you can use a P value of 8 or anything. Grant Bowie uses Powerfeed on banksias after they have become used to it. You should always use new fertilisers at a reduce strengt5h and work up the concentration on your plants. Never use it at full strength because Joe Blog doesPaul W wrote:

Maggots just make them break down faster on the soil surface, more ferts quickerBrian wrote:I like making fertiliser cakes, but maggots are a problem.Scott Roxburgh wrote:Cottonseed meal, blood and bone, charlie carp formed into cakes.
