Bodhi,

I don't expect to have this (or my other ones) anywhere near looking good in 18 months, especially in my climate. I use these competitions to do work on plants that would normally stay in the stock section of my yard.

Peter

Lol I am with you there Peter, these comps have brought a few trees out of the shadows :)
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

The direction for this tree has been a bit more difficult of the 4 I have entered because of the starting height, thickness and straightness of the trunk.( As seen in the first photos)
Today I decided to do some bending of the lower trunk to bring the height within the 250mm restriction which also would remove the straightness of the lower trunk. I am hoping this does not damage the graft.
Later I will be using a compression technique to bring all the branching within parameters.

Regards

Peter

Waw!
Inspiring!
What size wire did you use for bending the trunk?

This has had a re-pot. Its not ready for a bonsai pot and may not make it by the end of the comp.

Could the mods withdraw this entry. It has become deciduous. Not a good sign on a pine.
