Wow, that is showing keenness in 18 months Peter.

I don't expect to have this (or my other ones) anywhere near looking good in 18 months, especially in my climate. I use these competitions to do work on plants that would normally stay in the stock section of my yard.

Peter

Lol I am with you there Peter, these comps have brought a few trees out of the shadows

It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Re: [PeterH] Pinus strobus minuta
The direction for this tree has been a bit more difficult of the 4 I have entered because of the starting height, thickness and straightness of the trunk.( As seen in the first photos)
Today I decided to do some bending of the lower trunk to bring the height within the 250mm restriction which also would remove the straightness of the lower trunk. I am hoping this does not damage the graft.
Later I will be using a compression technique to bring all the branching within parameters.
Regards
Peter

Waw!
Inspiring!
What size wire did you use for bending the trunk?

Thanks
Wire on the lower trunk is 6mm
I am right on the limit for shohin. I may have to reduce more.

Peter
