Species: Liquidamber styraciflua
Height: 50cm
Source: Freecycle winter 2012
Cost: Free
This tree was not strong when I got it & all of the branching has died off along with most of the trunk. Since I acquired it growth has been good & the lifelines stabilised. It will be an interesting challenge in not only controlling growth but also carving to get the best out of this ugly duck.

I'll be interested to see how you go in getting the leaves down to a reasonable size mate. Will watch with interest.

Re: [MattA] Liquidamber styraciflua
I hooked into carving away most of the upper dead wood but really needed to find how extensive the rot was in the base so have opted to bare root it to find out exactly what I have got to play with.
Rather than put it back into a pot I have made a temporary spot in one of my garden beds to accomodate it.
Nothing more to be done till late winter when all of the growth will be shortened & positioned. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
