Post by Neli »

• Species name Duranta gold
• Original height of stock 75cm
• Where you obtained it from: grown by me from cutting
• Cost of stock: free
Dont get shocked I am entering so many...I need to learn and this competition gives me a good excuse to fiddle with my plants while they are small. Itching to cut bend wire...

It has grown. It was time for serious trim. Found it bushy, and removed most of the foliage and branches.

Just trimming it to one internode as it grows in an attempt to reduce the internodes.

Defoliated it again..so I am able to remove branches that are not needed. Left the branches to grow and did not shorten them.

You are right ...no plans with this one and it shows...I wanted to see where it is going and how it will look. I kept on cutting the leader by accident...
Now I bought a printer...and want to have clear plans for the future with a file on each plant in a file with notes about things to keep in mind when styling...It will help I think.
I aam still learning...

I grew this tree from a tiny cutting.
The tree was trunk chopped and new branches grown.
Clip and grow and primary branch wiring was utilized...Brunches were grown for 6-8 leaves and cut back to one to avoid long internodes.
The tree was repotted in a training intermediate pot, since the root system was just too big.
The tree still has long way to go, but for the future I just need to create thicker branches and finer ramification. I need to create better separation between the pads also.
