Re: [Squizzy] Juniperus glauca
Ok so the first move for this tree was to reduce some of the foliage and see what was in there.
I wired up the leader and placed a few branches. Some of these may be removed at a later date. Hopefully I haven't taken to much of the foliage away to reduce the stress on the tree.

I found a fairly interesting trunkline and worked out front for the tree.I wired up the leader and placed a few branches. Some of these may be removed at a later date. Hopefully I haven't taken to much of the foliage away to reduce the stress on the tree.

Not a great deal to report on this tree. I don't think its moved a lot as far as growth.

Re: [Squizzy] Juniperus glauca
So I have since heard a theory that a junipers energy comes from the foliage. I think I got lucky here and didn't manage to kill it by striping it bare.

Re: [Squizzy] Juniperus glauca
Have not heard that, bud reasonable assumption in that if you remove all foliage it will die back. As you can trim foliage, there must be a tipping point that gets reached and the tree or branch dies.squizzy wrote:So I have since heard a theory that a junipers energy comes from the foliage. Just need to work out where that is for each tree

Re: [Squizzy] Juniperus glauca
I have re worked this one a little today.
I pulled all the wire off and attempted to re wire a little more tidy
The shape is pleasing to me but I am now a little confused as to the pot shape I might use
I think a circle pot or hex pot but cant visualize it yet.
I think the first section of trunk leaves at to much of a right angle in its current position so I am also considering laying it over a little more to the right? I guess I will play with that at the re pot.
Photos to follow on the phone.

Little bit of growth here but not as much as I would like to see. I have been very busy with work and haven't put the time into my trees that they need. Anyhow here is the update. Photo to follow
