So.
There is this wisteria near my place that produces lovely long white flowers and i was not successful with any cuttings taking root this year. Driving past it the other day i noticed a mass of seed pods on said vine - when is the best time to collect and sow? Allow to 'ripen' on the vine until mid April? then try in soil in early spring?
Dont have much luck with fresh seeds - no problem with veggies from the diggers club though.
thanks
H

Re: Wisteria seed collection
Wait till the pods ripen on the vine, around leaf drop, remove the seed from the pods & store in the chiller of your fridge for 6-8wks then sow approx 2cm deep and keep damp. The seedlings wont come true to the parent plant and can also take 20yrs or more to flower from seed, if your keen to have that variety I would keep trying hardwood cuttings in late winter.

Make sure you propagate from wood which has flowered or you may end up with another 20 year wait
