Orange (Citrus Sinensis) Collecting Tips?

So a friend of mine has an orange tree he wants ripped out of his yard. I'm going to look at it tomorrow to see if it will work as a bonsai but I wanted to see if anybody had any experience working with citrus and had any tips on collecting one. I'll put up some photos after the recon.
