Juniper total change of direction
This Juniper when purchased had a totally different look it was pretty much an informal upright, the whole planting angle has been changed and when purchased all of the Jinned branches were living.
I loved the branch that has broken away and really wanted to make a feature out of it, I have just finished a rewire and restyle of this tree, as well a a clean up of the dead wood and a coat of lime sulphur, a couple of coats of wood hardener on the dead wood and it will be right to grow on and fill out
It will be interesting to see it when the pads have filled out
There are photos of what the tree looked like before, after it's first restyle and now after I have just adjusted it again

Earls wood hardener from Bunnings, I have previously purchased it in the trigger pack, but now buy it in the 1lt container as it works out about half price
Thanks for the comment on the tree

Nice job Nathan
Are you planning on bringing the foliage over to the right with the trunk direction, or keeping opposing on the left?
Love to keep track of this one.

Hi All
This is were the tree is up to as of today, there is a thick part of the trunk at the bases of the dead wood (reverse taper) which I am going to need to work on needs some carving to reduce the thickness

Yep.
There can be no mistaking that is one very cool tree.
By far and away an improvement on it's origins.
I like.

That is very cool. I like what you have done. I have one very similar to this. My jins aren't quite as big as yours. Woujld running a shari down the back tye the juni into the trunk better.

Re: Juniper total change of direction
Hey nice tree Nathan. A far cry from what it was. The angle the trunk exits the soil line feels unbalanced or something maybe
. Fantastic start to a new life and I look forward to its progression.

Re: Juniper total change of direction
Hi Nick,
As the tree has developed it has been tweaked in a different direction that I was first going to go and as such the potting angle need to be refined also, I will wait a few weeks until it has gotten over the shock of the restyle and it cools down then will repot and adjust the angle
Cheers
