Hi All,
This is a trident maple root over rock,i find it very had to get good colour in maples as i live near the coast ,this is the best colour i have had in years.

hi john niceone there; the new bonsai focus talks and shows a progression on a japanese maple root over rock. they talk about how eventually a tree outgrows a rock and is no longer in proportion. they layer the tree off and create a great tree not just a good root over rock. food for thought no disrespect to your tree intended.
