Hi Guys,
I have picked up a green island fig (ficus macrocarpa?) at a local nursery for 10 bucks. It is about ten years old and has a nice tapered trunk.
I have cut off all dead twigs and will repot this weekend.
Any ideas on styles, any tips.?
I apologise for the quality of the pics, it is raining cats and dogs here.
Cheers.

I find Green island figs trunks get tough and hard to bend but they back bud really well. Depending on what type of tree you have in mind for this you could chop the top of and regrow new branches. Chop it at the first branch and make that the leader. This is a hard one as it is so long and straight

Or better still do an air layer and get 2 trees for one
I find there isn't a 100 % strike rate with cutting so rather than just cutting it off I would do an air layer. If you live in a warm climate you could take the layer off in 8 weeks.
