I don't think it is a real comp, more a great place to post all the great hawthorns that are out there. Not sure when I am going to be able to get mine out:(

the cannon ant was talking about is a hawthorn that was dug 2 years ago, it has been settling into bonsai life since & hasn't had any styling done yet. the tree is as it came out of the ground except with its new shoots attached. i can't post it until Tuesday night as circumstances will not allow until then.
i would like to see what each person does with their hawthorn as far as styling & a future. i don't think it would be fair to judge the "hawthoff" on raw stock alone. what do others think, is it too soon to be looking for "winners", shouldn't we all be looking for progression on the trees. this hawthoff may go on for some months yet, it will keep us all entertained & more interested in our trees. miyagi.

Not thinking of an end to the story just a change of chapter.
Lets vote one what people think is the best collected so far and then compare votes as the styling progresses. If anyone is doing late collecting we can wait for sure.

hey ant, don't forget that bodhi lives in the heartland of hawthorn world. he only has to stroll along the next door neighbors fenceline for the next entry. and i've never seen wild ones in our area with pink flowers. i might have to have a cruise in this area. miyagi.
