Hey Guys I was waiting on finding the date of The Orange Cherry Blossom festival as I thought it was close.
It is on the last weekend in September so I am thinking the sooner the better and we should go the last weekend in August being the 28th 29th.
I still have to check this with the Orange bonsai club members. Well whoever shows up at the next meeting anyway  Says Brett who hasn't made one since last September
Then I will confirm and lock in that date with Don.
So if anyone can think of any reason we should not use that day speak up!

Thanks for the patience guys I will lock it in as soon as I can.

I usually just tell her I'm popping down the shop to get the paper and then make a break for it, try that ;)
LOL
But coming home 3 days later might be a problem :-)

Naaah, thats the easy part, just get a magnifying glass, burn three small dots into the back of your neck in a triangular pattern and tell her you were abducted by aliens from the plieades galaxy ... works every time. ;)

I would think after the second tri pattern the excuse would get a bit complicated ;)

Ok guys looks like we have the first weekend in September booked in. 4th and 5th to be exact.
Text Msg from Don
Gday Brett. 4th n 5th should be good. Temp will b ok. I'll find out about any permits or such that may be needed. I'm pretty sure we'll be ok 2go. Happy days.
So the next thing to work out is which day to have Don put on the Demo for us and what you would like him to do.
I thought he might be able to do a demo on the Olives. Some discussion on collecting soil and styling.
Makes sense to me to do this on the Saturday before we go collecting so we know what we are doing and after collecting on Sunday we can take our booty straight home to be cared for?

Maybe there are other ideas of what you would like to see Don do. We could probably fit in another Demo but I guess there is going to be plenty to see and talk about that we should not try and cram too much in.

Demonstration fees will be split among the participants. Don usually charges about $200 for this so as we have over 10 participants so far and free accommodation once we get there it should be a very cheap event. Especially considering we walk away with what we collect :D
Oh except what you can't resist buying from Don's stock.
Happy Days :)

A workshop first to explain what needs to be done makes sense, sounds great.
OOOOHHHHH September 4th is my birthday, be still my beating heart, this is not a message from the gods.
Actually cant see any way I can get there, but theres plenty of time to plan, and maybe it is a message from the gods.

Bring her along...... If I end up coming I'm bringing hubby, cause digging in clay is HARD!!

Gosh,

That looks like a free weekend for me when the NBPCA collection is closed down due to the construction of Floriade.

Darn, that means I might have to come along as well if you'll have me.
