Re: Floriade 2010 in Canberra
Hi all,
We have now had over 50,000 people through the collection! 6 days to go!
We have had two long weekends in a row and they were both busy.
Will we make 60,000?
Grant

Re: Floriade 2010 in Canberra
Hi everyone,
Today is the last day of Floriade and after 29 days of Floriade and one day of hayfever I'm a bit tired but enjoying the ride.
We have had approx 59,680 visitors so far and are therefore sure to break the 60,000 barrier. A few years ago this would have seemed like breaking the sound barrier.
Anyhow off to work.

We met with the architects for the new sight and approved the "vision" for the site and with a few minor alterations we got everything we asked for. We are not allowed to show the plans yet until they are approved by the National Capital Authority but that is seen as a formality. As soon as we can we will share.
Our new site is much larger than our current site and we are right in amongst the other facitilties that will be on the hill with us. Parking, toilets and cafe will be very adjacent.
We should be able to display many more bonsai than we currently do and have a much more spacious feel to it at the same time.
So if you would like to have one of your best bonsai on display at the collection you should start planning now!
I am out of the office today so Leigh could respond as to the exact amount of visitors.

Re: Floriade 2010 in Canberra
Floriade 2010 was a great success for the NBPCA.
We had 61,829 visitors which is 34% more than last year.
We had great feedback from the visitors and alot of interest in our new location.
