Nice work mate, this might make it easier to keep the little ones from drying out, just make sure they don't get too much shade in the winter time.

Hi Ken,
This area is my grow on area for my trees and personal stock as well as for smaller trees that I do for sale, I usually sell about 100 odd smaller bonsais a year trough word of mouth and a bonsai studio, this funds my purchase of larger stock for myself

Hi Shannon,
The plan is to use the newer style rows of hooks to hold it on and that way I can remove it during winter, then just put it back up as needed

This Australia Day Long Weekend we are reducing all stock by 20%. All of our current stock on the shelves will be reduced for Saturday, Sunday and Monday Only. Give us a call or send us an email to book a time to come and see what we have and save yourself some money

I have just finished installing the new sprinklers for my shade cloth area, I have used heavy electrical conduit across the top as a support and then have attached my polly pipe to that, installed 200mm risers and 360deg spray heads. It works a treat and with the combination of the more efficent spray heads and the shade cloth I am hoping to reduce my water usage by 50% for this area

I have worked out some figures and did some testing to see how long it take to sufficiently water the bonsai's I have in this area and I should be reducing my water usage by 41% that is before the shade cloth is installed

So nice to finally have some decent rain, not heavy rain just lovely drizzle that has gone on now for most of the day, the trees are loving it

Yesterday I measured up and went and purchased all of the timber
Also I ordered online the shade cloth I am going to use 50% I found a place where I can get 50 mtrs at 1.8mts wide for $125, where as at the hardware store it was $79 for 6 mts, and the stuff I have purchased comes with a 5 year warranty
Today I dug the holes and rapid set them in, screwed the front posts into the existing sleepers, and this afternoon screwed the cross beams on.
It is looking good, I have also placed a slope on it as I have some large gums around in the green space and I get lots of leaves dropping
I will also install a watering system to spray down once I have the shade cloth on

Well it has taken me a few weekends but I have finally managed to finish my covered area, it looks great and provides really good protection for my smaller trees, more delicate trees and also any thing that I have recently repotted
With the combination of the new irrigation set up and the shade cloth I will be saving just over 50% of the water I used to use in the same area, which I am really pleased about

Love the rustic texture, now I just need to work out what tree to put into it?

I had to go into work today to be onsite for come server testing while this was happening I thought I would spend a little time reworking some trees, so I decided on three root over rock figs
