As the Mod at AB.C, I promise to ban you if you are not present at the show next year. How's that for an incentive?

;)

I am Absolutely upset that i did not know about this lunch. I have been really busy the last few days, and did not check the forum. I promised to go with mum to the art show, then last minute i realized the bonsai show was on. The information center in Canberra told me how to get to the show at the Botanic Gardens, where i met Kunzea and a few others. Kunzea helped me find my way to the national collection...... WOW! Whilst there, i bumped into Steven! I also had a short talk with Grant. Both are absolutely fantastic people.

Unfortunately, it was only then i found out i had missed lunch. I could not attend dinner either as there was no accommodation in ACT so i had to go back to Goulbourn for the night. I would have really liked to catch up with more of the crew, and spent longer down there to view the new site for the national collection and visit Mr Tafe.

Same again next year?

Here is the first of my many photos from the weekend.
A rare shot of some of the pioneers and heavyweights of Australian Bonsai. I conservatively estimate the combined practical knowledge to be in excess of 200 years.

Super, Steven!
I hope my addition of a few more photos doesn't interfere with your report.

Beautiful tree
I notice the backdrops to all the trees look like corrugated Iron. Is this intended ? maybe to provide the Aussie feel to each display?
If so I like it and congrats to thos who thought of it

To see the result of the public vote regarding the most popular trees go to
http://www.cbs.org.au/index.php?option= ... &Itemid=54

Ken: the panels behind the trees are Laserlite, that polycarbonate roofing material used for pergolas etc. It makes setting up for the show very easy, as the panels are simply held in place by the tables on each side. I'll pass on your congrats to the organisers of this year's show, and to MikeBonsai in particular.
