thanks steve :D i havent had a problem with the sphagnum drying out so far the top has now been opened some more too, just a case of being vigilant and checking regulary and making sure its moist :D


Antonio- i am interested in seeing where you go with this one mate :D have you got any plans?

you never know? but grant bowie taugtht us a trick with squamata's earlier in the year. where if you bury a section of tree you cut off, in a seedling tray and leave some foliage poking out, it grows roots up and down the section. which is perfect for raft or you divide it up. i did it 2 back in autumn and they are now pushing growth. just not sure where the roots are yet. i will repot those next authumn. so if you want a raft or lots of intesting section's, you dont need to layer sqamata's. :D ;) 8-)

I use a split black pot and moss. Doesnt dry out.
Ive got one on the go at the moment Ill ad pics in later.
Aikido keeps me rolling; Bonsai keeps me still.
