I hear you Tim.
I'm the same with Junipers, as much as I like to look at them I have little interest in growing them. I am trying my hand at a few deciduous trees, tridents and Japanese maples, liquid amber and one experimental Melia azedarach (white cedar) mostly for the winter silhouette. Living in Sydney I rarely see much Autumn colour so any colour that I do see will be an added bonus.
