favourite fertiliser!!

I made a 100 ltr bin of liquid fert. I have used it on conifers with good results and a couple of azalea with no probs.
the big problem is not knowing exactly how strong the stuff is or exactly how it settled down in terms of NPK etc.

Aside from the stink bin, seamungus has been good to me along with any of the solubles/liquid ferts.
Also Comfrey based liquid fert is good too.

Just like potting mixes, each one is a little different and each grower has their favourites

Cottonseed meal, blood and bone, charlie carp formed into cakes.

Then charlie carp, seasol, and miracle-gro alternated each week...and lots of water!

Like Scott with the liquid, but I use Neutrog "Sudden Impact for Roses" on the surface

Same treatment for ALL trees

Not that i know of.
I put Seasol on All my trees after repotting and that includes 2 banksia I have

Twice weekly..Spring/Summer...Liquifert Diamond
Twice weekly...Autumn/Winter...MKP (Monopotassium Phosphate)
Twice weekly ferts applied as liquid applications.

Totes agree.
So I use worm juice and apply the Walter Pall method of regularity..
..using diatomite, at varying levels too.
Aus natives like banksia and even acid loving wollemi love the juice, as it wont burn anything.

Has anyone tried making liquid fertilizer out of their weeds buy soaking them in a bucket of water till they break down?

I'm currently making cakes with rapeseed meal but was also thinking of making a liquid version for foliar spray.

Hi Matt,
I use the following.

Seasol: As preparation for repotting and after repotting. Soak trees after doing a dig. Reviving sick trees.
Osmocote: Mix in soil when repotting.
Charlie Carp and PowerFeed: I use these alternatively. Every couple of weeks.
Gyganic: On Cumquats.
Dolomite Lime: I use this on Elms, Privet and Olives. After placing some Seamungus on the soil I sprinkle some Dolomite Lime on the surface and wash this through the soil.
Foliage Feeding: On everything.
Seamungus: I use this as a surface fertilizer on everything except acid loving trees. eg. Azaleas.
Kahoona: All acid loving trees. NOTE: From the above fertilizers, I only use Seasol and Foliage Feed and mix some Osmocote for Azaleas in the soil when repotting.

Home made cakes are definitly the best 50/50 soyabean meal or cottonsead and Blood and Bone.
Anything with chicken shari like Dynamic etc tend (for me) to give very large leaves so maybe its ok for stock but for finished trees I think there is too much N released too quickly.
I've found the home made cakes take about 3 weeks to start working in early spring when the temp is still low so a mild liquid is good then as well. Organics this time of year result in deficiencies as its just too cold (here) for very vigorous bacterial activity to occur. So something like phostrogen in early spring is better.

What a response mate. I'm into dynamic lifter and Seasol/Powerfeed combo, works very well for my plant. I tried the spray on connect to the hose Powerfeed once worked really well except for the amount of water, it made everything a bit muddy, fortunately was in the middle of summer, all ended well. Seasol/Powerfeed combo together and 1/2 strengt

Just try to make sure you get the genuine stuff (100% without K added) I once bought a batch that had sand and bark in it! Bunnings doesn't seem to have it anymore...surprise surprise.
I think I got mine from Masters.

From my google research, the 'Brunnings' branded stuff from Masters appears to be the closest to pure B&B with 0%K - all the others say B&B 'based' fertiliser and have other stuff in them with some K content. I'll try the Brunnings stuff then - cheers!
