Branches on cedars take many years to set so you need to wire them almost all the time, they look much better wired right out to the tips of the sub branches.

Moganic if you do a bit of a search through Craig's posts, you will find some pics of one of his Blue Atlas Cedars that illustrate his point.

Cheers,

Thanks mate! Took me six hours to wire it all, worth it in the end though. :-)

i wonder if the small right branch could be used more as a rear branch and the branch above that can be brought forward to compensate, can even be extended and taken lower too., to make that low inside curve branch not as much inside, :2c:

Hi Fex,

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, due to the angle at which the branch comes off the trunk and the thickness of the branch, a bend would look quite awkward at this point either forward or back. I have contemplated removing the lowest right branch many times but always decide against it, simply because the left hand branch would need to be reduced significantly to balance this change.

I have also considered a suggestion to remove both branches to create a bunjin style tree, but I don't have the will power; knowing the work that has gone into developing this by the trees previous owner and then by myself leaves me hesitant to remove any branches completely for now.

Again, thanks for your interest and suggestion. Reminds me, I should probably post an update before spring growth!

Cheers,
Mo
