Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, due to the angle at which the branch comes off the trunk and the thickness of the branch, a bend would look quite awkward at this point either forward or back. I have contemplated removing the lowest right branch many times but always decide against it, simply because the left hand branch would need to be reduced significantly to balance this change.
I have also considered a suggestion to remove both branches to create a bunjin style tree, but I don't have the will power; knowing the work that has gone into developing this by the trees previous owner and then by myself leaves me hesitant to remove any branches completely for now.
Again, thanks for your interest and suggestion. Reminds me, I should probably post an update before spring growth!
