I would absolutely love to go to this one! I love sketching, it can be so calming just like bonsai!
I hope someone takes a camera as I would love to see how people go with it and the art work they create! these would be up on my walls in frames if I had access to some of his works!

Re: Peter Adams Drawing Workshop 16th August 2011. Dural, Sydney
Well, I was fortunate enough to spend a beautiful morning in the sun learning how to draw bonsai under the careful instruction of Mr Adams.
Peter started off with an informal chat and demonstration; The demo included examples of drawing different types of foliage; We then took our places in Ray's garden for the practical component; There were 10 of us in attendance and most took along their own trees to draw. Here are some examples; Peter spent the time wandering between students and personally assisting each one with his or her skills. At the end we had all improved our techniques under the expert instruction of Peter. Not only is he an excellent bonsai tutor and all round nice guy, his drawing teaching is second to none. He just makes things really simple! I have a bunch of notes but forgot to ask Peters permission to publish them here. I will seek his approval before posting.
It was an extremely worthwhile few hours and I left the workshop feeling like I could really draw a tree. As I said before, Peter just breaks things down to a very simple and easy to follow process. I recommend you speak to your club and arrange for this type of workshop in the future. I'm sure that if enough people show interest we will be able to persuade Peter and Kate to make another trip to Australia
Regards,
Steven
